From the time you buckle yourself in to one of the big powerful jet boats, the excitement begins.
Your skilful driver will have your boat flying by rocky outcrops just centimetres away, skimming around crags, boulders and overhanging trees and twisting through narrow canyons at speeds of up to 85 kilometres per hour and in water that is often less than 10cm deep!
Jet boating is suitable for all ages and levels of fitness and can be enjoyed the whole year round.
A New Zealand invention, the jet boat was developed in the 1960's by William Hamilton as a way to navigate shallow rivers.
Several rivers in both the North and South Islands offer a range of Jet Boating options with most 30 minute trips costing in the NZ $60 - $100 range with all accessories provided.
